Agency Services | Colorado Healing Hounds
How it Works
We schedule our dogs to come to your headquarters, districts or substations, or community meetings/events that you host or co-sponsor. Does that mean once a week? Every other week? Once a month? You decide, and if it’s too much or not enough, we will gladly adjust our services to meet your needs.
Our services have no cost for First Responder agencies.
Step One
Reach out to Healing Hounds via text, phone, email or social media, and tell us what you need.
Step Two
A rep will reach out to you to schedule a “Meet and Greet” session (with our staff and the dogs) to get the process started.
Step Three
We look forward to seeing you at our scheduled Meet and Greet and before we leave, we will schedule your next visit!
You will be provided with an Agency Sign Up Packet containing our Letter of Introduction, Memorandum of Understanding Agreement, and Proof of Liability Insurance.
Counseling Services
Being a part of a First Responder family can be very rewarding, but it doesn’t come without its challenges. If your clients are former, current or future first responder family members, we would like to be a part of your services. Healing Hounds will partner with your center by providing Therapy K9 Teams for your First Responder group sessions.
There is a nominal program fee for working with Healing Hounds to provide Therapy K9 Teams for your group sessions. This programming fee goes towards helping to recruit and train Therapy K9 Team volunteers.

Dispatch the Dogs Program
Participating agencies that are already partnering with Healing Hounds, Inc. are encouraged to participate in our Dispatch the Dogs program. This unique program offers agencies the option of requesting a K9 Therapy Team be dispatched to a specific location to assist responders with handling a particularly difficult or traumatic scene or debrief, or community engagement event.

Brian Barry is a 36-year veteran of the Denver Police Department. He lives with acute Post-traumatic stress disorder and has had to cope with suicidal ideations since 2017.
Steve Warneke is a former Denver, CO police sergeant who is dedicating the next chapter of his career to bringing police health and wellness issues to the forefront.
